Friday the 13th Tats – A Modern Tradition

Longtime readers will remember this graphic from our August 13, 2010 post ”Ink Yourself“. @GinahSinner created it for that post which was a follow-up of our original story “Friday the 13th Tattoo Specials” from November 2009.

As you’ll see in that story, @MischiefInVegas and I caught the ’13′ bug on November 13, 2009, the 13th Anniversary of our first date. We got matching 13′s on the left side of our necks to commemorate the occasion.

Fast-forward to 2011 and the sole Friday the 13th in May. By the time we got to Massive they were closed. After culling twitter, we ended up at Voodoo Tattoo #2 on Valley View. We were bored with the flash poster that we’d had to choose from and this offered us a banging alternative.

Once in Voodoo, we met artist Steve Rieck, who designed a bunch of custom flash for the occasion. Elaine found what is probably the coolest Friday the 13th tat yet. –>
